SAENGER Galería, in collaboration with COHJU Gallery (Kyoto, Japan), is pleased to present a joint project for the upcoming edition of Zona Maco, Latin America's leading art fair, held at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City from February 5th to 9th, 2025. The project will feature a curated selection of works by four exceptional Japanese artists—Kosei Komatsu, Atsuki Fujimoto, Anna Yamanishi, and Mio Yamato—showcased alongside four distinguished Latin American and European artists: Fernanda Brunet, Robert Janitz, Mária Švarbová, and Yoab Vera. Together, their works will create a dynamic dialogue that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.
COHJU Contemporary Art, founded in February 2008 in Kyoto, is dedicated to promoting emerging Japanese artists on the international stage while introducing global talent to the local art scene.
This presentation is more than just an exhibition—it is a celebration of artistic collaboration. It reflects both SAENGER Galería and COHJU's core mission to foster intercultural exchange and build bridges between diverse artistic traditions. By bringing together these exceptional talents from Japan, Latin America, and Europe, the exhibition aims to spark new conversations and inspire a deeper understanding between cultures, highlighting the universal themes that connect us all through the language of art.
We invite visitors to immerse themselves in the unique perspectives of these artists, whose works engage with a wide range of mediums and conceptual explorations—from the delicate interplay of light and shadow to the intricate relationship between space, movement, and materiality. This carefully curated booth at Zona Maco 2025 promises to be a rich tapestry of cross-cultural expression, offering a glimpse into the ways contemporary art can transcend borders and foster meaningful dialogue between different worlds.
