Overview
For this exhibition Cecilia Barreto shows part of her latest body of work that derives from the constant search on the representation of power, economic exchanges and analysis of financial data.
Through research on the distribution of mining concessions in the country to foreign and national companies, their different locations, profits and extraction percentages, Barreto re-creates the landscape in an abstract way, re-generating the territory.
She shows us a smooth representation, full of light and tones that refer to a clear sky. We can imagine a broad landscape where we find traces of multiple layers, movement, and at the same time subtraction and emptiness.
