In this second Habeica exhibition in collaboration with SAENGER Galería, the artist continues to develop a narrative in which he shows us his reality through still and moving images. Habeica creates a story that is both probable and yet impossible
to verify, similar to a novel, in Napoleon Habeica's photographs, videos and installations we attend events of which we can only appreciate fragments, with partial views and jumps in the time that we are invited to participate in the stories that the artist tells us about his self-exile. at Level 2 November 17, 2022 - January 13, 2023 SAENGER GALERÍA is pleased to present Playlist, an exhibition by the artist Rodolfo Díaz Cervantes. This exhibition, made up of various non-isolated chapters, presents some abstract calligraphic exercises, installations and pictorial winks resulting from experiments with language, geometry (symmetry) and elements that allude to composition; as well as games of perception and the occupation —or transformation— of space as a canvas or planting ground, using the objects as ingredients of the montages that in the process reveal their inherent vitality beyond their materiality. Clareou by Alfredo Gallegos Mena
at Project Room September 22 - November 5, 2022 SAENGER GALERÍA is pleased to present Clareou, the first solo exhibition by Mexican artist Alfredo Gallegos Mena. Housed in the Sala de Proyectos with a curatorship of Christian Barragán, this exhibition brings together unpublished works corresponding to different series in which the use of unusual materials, techniques and precepts predominates in the tradition of painting. At the same time, the artist has named the exhibition and the central body that makes it up according to a Brazilian musical genre and according to certain compositions that are particularly significant in the development of his life and work during the last five years. This choice translates into an affectively tenacious vision and a rigorous and experimental exercise of art that could be said with the expression “don't let painting die”. Read more -
Terapia de Color by Mark Hagen
at Main Room September 22 - November 5, 2022 Saenger Galería is pleased to present Mark Hagen's first exhibition in Mexico City: Terapia de Color (Color Therapy). Based in Los Angeles, California, Hagen is now represented by Saenger Galería.
Spanning a wide variety of media, such as painting, ceramics, sculptures, and installations Hagen’s practice examines the relationship between systems, self-determination, and expression. His interests include the physical, institutional, and discursive parameters of art, the processes of production, artistic labor, social space and more broadly: repetition, accumulation and the boundaries of human perception among others. During this summer, Cerda made both a study on a plant species, called daily Thought, as a reflection on the action of thinking about certain human -and posthuman- events today. Read more -

at Main Room July 7 - September 17, 2022 Since 1997, when she presented her first solo exhibition in Mexico City, Fernada Brunet has created a pictorial language influenced by comics, nature and human sexuality. The artist considers that the moment of creation occurs as an involuntary catharsis that allows her to configure a painting that is both gestural and super-flat. In her second solo exhibition with Saenger Galeria, consistently titled after the symbol of fire used daily and globally in virtual interactions, Brunet brings together a wide range of recent works in her already recognized pictorial style, with vibrant colors and shapes that evoke unexpected visions of the human sensory experience. The Shape of Lies by Víctor Rodríguez
at Level 2 July 7 - September 17, 2022 This first solo exhibition by Rodríguez in collaboration with Saenger Galería, reviews in a timely manner the last two decades in the artist's career, which has gone through various facets, with particular approaches to cubism, pop art and realism, as well as his predilection for certain compositional strategies such as collage, the divided cinematic screen, juxtaposition and, recently, the incorporation of drawing superimposed on the pictorial surface. The Shape of Lies by Víctor Rodríguez is also an occasion for celebration, as it represents the fifty individual show in his already very prolific career. Read more -
Robert Janitz at Anahuacalli
Curated by Karla Niño de Rivera June 10 - September 11, 2022 Saenger Galería is honored to present the most recent solo show of Robert Janitz, a German painter based in Mexico, held at the Anahuacalli Museum (June 10th - September 11th 2022).
After making his debut in Latin America with a pair of solo exhibitions — the first site-specific project which took place last spring, and the second in Saenger Galería at the beginning of 2022 — Robert Janitz (Alsfeld, 1962) presented a selection of large-format paintings and sculptures integrated into both the natural space of the Valley of Mexico and the architectural space of the Anahuacalli. Curated by Michel Blansubé April 27 - June 25, 2022 Albertus Magnus, the 13th century scholar who, in his De Mineralibus, explained the origin of stones based on the myth of Pyrrha and Deucalion. Pyrrha was the wife of Deucalion, son of Prometheus; Pyrrha and Deucalion were the only survivors of a flood caused by Zeus. Deucalion threw stones over his shoulder, which turned into men, while Pyrrha threw others, which turned into women.

at Project Room April 26 - June 25, 2022 SAENGER Galería presents Radio Solar, the first solo exhibition by Mexican artist Sebastián Hidalgo (Puebla, 1985) at the gallery's current location in the historic neighborhood of Tacubaya. The exhibition is made up of a group of unpublished works, including paintings, drawings and a small installation, created during the last few years, from 2019 to the present; a period that includes the appearance of the Covid-19 pandemic and its still-present consequences, events that provide the background to the core story outlined in Hidalgo's exhibition. ¿Cómo se construye un río? - A duo show by Madeline Jiménez Santil and Nicole Chaput
Co-curated by Haydeé Rovirosa and Yina Jiménez Suriel April 26 - June 25, 2022 The first chapter of this project titled: reflujos. no siempre se puede ver el viento construir el paisaje [reflux. One can´t always see the wind shaping the landscape], was shown within the framework of Salón Acme in February. Here, we set out to see what would happen if exhibition time subverted the conventional logic of experimenting with things. If exhibition time were time in motion, if it were a flow of shapes that come in and out, that relate to their exterior without disregarding their interior… what happens is chaos and contradiction. From that experience, we carry on towards this new chapter, in which we seek to relate bodies goosebumped with stones, but from different perspectives. Read more -

at Main Room February 8 - April 16, 2022 SAENGER Galería is honored to present at its new headquarters the second individual exhibition in Mexico by the painter Robert Janitz (Alsfeld, Germany, 1962), which is called “El secreto del mundo” (The ecret of the World).
After making his debut in Latin America with a site-specific exhibition at Casa Gilardi (by renowned architect Luis Barragán) last spring, Robert Janitz is now showing a previously unseen selection of large-format paintings and sculptures integrated into a specially-made color installation. by him for the walls of the Main Room of SAENGER Galería. Crack the code by Alejandro Pintado
November 25, 2021 - January 22, 2022 The second solo exhibition at Saenger Galería's Project Room consisted of a large and unprecedented pictorial installation by Mexican artist Alejandro Pintado (CDMX, 1973). Created especially for this occasion, the show comprises a diverse constellation of works in different media: from oil painting, sculpture in cement and light, to charcoal drawing, ephemeral intervention with vinyl film and digital graphics.
