RODOLFO DÍAZ CERVANTES

SAENGER GALERÍA se complace en presentar Playlist, exposición del artista Rodolfo Díaz Cervantes. Esta muestra compuesta por diversos capítulos no aislados, presenta algunos ejercicios caligráficos abstractos, instalaciones y guiños pictóricos resultado de experimentos con el lenguaje, la geometría (simetría) y elementos que aluden a la composición; así como a juegos de percepción y a la ocupación —o transformación— del espacio como lienzo o terreno de siembra, utilizando los objetos como ingredientes de los montajes que en el proceso revelan su vitalidad inherente más allá de su materialidad.

Esta exhibición retoma ideas que estuvieron en desarrollo durante un lapso de ausencia por parte de Díaz Cervantes, así como también recupera puntos de interés latentes que derivan de lo cotidiano, la materialidad, lo sensual, el miedo y la conjunción de elementos irregulares pero conectados entre sí mismos. Es así que el cuerpo de obra que nos presenta el artista contempla personajes con estructuras abstractas que pueden leerse y comprenderse en distintos niveles narrativos, piezas que juegan con la manera en que pueden —más no deben—presentarse.

Parte elemental de la exposición contempla motivos oníricos que ayudan a configurar una lectura lúdica y cuyas líneas discursivas son abordadas por el artista en condición de narrador omnisciente, manteniendo un recorrido flexible y libre que deriva en una colección de historias en las que las imágenes y los objetos funcionan como un texto extendido.

SAENGER GALERÍA is pleased to present Playlist, an exhibition by the artist Rodolfo Díaz Cervantes. This exhibition, made up of various non-isolated chapters, present some abstract calligraphic exercises, installations and pictorial winks resulting from experiments with language, geometry (symmetry) and elements that allude to composition; as well as games of perception and the occupation —or transformation— of space as a canvas or planting ground, using the objects as ingredients of the montages that in the process reveal their inherent vitality beyond their materiality.

This exhibition takes up ideas that were in development during a period of absence by Díaz Cervantes, as well as recovers latent points of interest that derive from the everyday, materiality, the sensual, fear and the conjunction of irregular but connected elements between themselves. Thus, the body of work that the artist presents to us contemplates characters with abstract structures that can be read and understood at different narrative levels, pieces that play with the way in which they can —but should not—be presented.

An elementary part of the exhibition contemplates dreamlike motifs that help to configure a playful reading and whose discursive lines are approached by the artist as an omniscient narrator, maintaining a flexible and free path that leads to a collection of stories in which images and objects work like extended text.
