Cisco Jiménez, 2022
Organized as a thematic review of Jiménez's production, the exhibition includes paintings, collages, sculptures, ceramics, assemblages and installations produced from the early 1990s to the present. The recurring theme is the artist's sharp critique of contemporary culture based on the environment of the state of Morelos, where he lives. Jiménez invites the viewer to stop and look at the images that inhabit his daily life, group them in different contexts, and re-signify them to create broader and more ambiguous realities. His pieces show diverse artistic techniques, among which collage and diagrams stand out, in which elements of urban art, images of the human body, elements of the landscape and texts that evoke a sort of visual poetics linked to emblematics are in dialogue.
