Plus One (+1)
On the occasion of its seventh anniversary, the team at Saenger Galería presents the group exhibition Plus One (+1), a show that brings along the efforts of artists, friends, and collaborators as a form of celebration.
This exhibition brings together the work of 54 artists: on one hand, 27 artists who have collaborated with Saenger Galería over the past seven years; each of whom, in turn, has invited another artist as their Plus One (+1), with the intention of expanding the community around the gallery and as a gesture of trust toward those who have filled its walls and spaces.
The growth of Saenger Galería has never been individual, but collective—a growth proportional to the effort and gratitude cultivated over these years—where, through the invitation of others, the community branches out, diversifies, and strengthens.
Otherness, according to Jean-Paul Sartre¹, consists in the human capacity to become aware of one’s own existence through the recognition of others. Otherness does not divide; rather, it reveals a diversity of ideas, thoughts, and creations in which, through admiration, opposition, response, or complementarity, we all coexist and inhabit. This exhibition celebrates the existence of others: the one who produces, the one who contemplates, but above all, the one who accompanies.
The result: a compendium of 54 artists and more than 60 works, a celebration where no one comes (nor has arrived) on its own.
